DISCUSSION QUESTIONS -

33 “No one after lighting a lamp puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, so that those who enter may see the light. 34 Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is full of light, but when it is bad, your body is full of darkness. 35 Therefore be careful lest the light in you be darkness. 36 If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright, as when a lamp with its rays gives you light.”

Luke 11:33-36

  • Are you “shining the light” of Jesus in your life? What does that mean to you?

  • How can we do better at putting Jesus’ light “on a stand” in our homes and community?

  • Verse 33 is about outward light. Verse 34 is about shining the light inward. How can you let Jesus shine in you and help you see things that you need to change?

  • Are there things that you used to look at or spend time doing that caused more darkness in you than light? What helped you stop focusing on those things?

  • What are some things in the church that cause our light to be dim? How can we make changes to represent Christ and shine light so those around us can see and know the gospel?

  • How can we pray for you?
